These retirement homes do not only provide monitoring and care for elderly folks, they also have programs for socializing, exercise, and activities that boost the morale of their patients. Some programs would include karaoke night, bingo and parties for birthday celebrants. There are also sports activities for the able like basketball and simple cardio exercises like walking and jogging.
Some centers also have tie ups with the local community and hold special visit days when kids from schools can visit the center and interact with the elderly. These activities are very enriching to both age gaps because they will learn to appreciate and learn many things from each other. This is mostly helpful to the seniors as well because some feel lonely because they are not often visited by relatives. This also serves as a reminder to us that one day, we will also get old. We should not neglect the people who took care of us when we were still kids. Without their love and care, we wouldn’t be where we are now as adults. In time we will feel these sentiments as we have our turn of old age.
